"A Descoberta do Quintal" is a book aimed at children aged 4 to 8, written by Débora Menger Rosa.

The book tells the story of Lucas, a little boy bored with everyday life and saturated with his experiences with electronic devices, discovering a new universe when his mother invites him to explore what lies beyond the doors of his imagination, in this case, expressed as the backyard of his own house.

From the moment Lucas decides to use his imagination to go beyond what he already knows, he starts to see his backyard as a great forest full of emotions, discoveries, and… dangers!

My proposal as an illustrator:

Use simple and easily recognizable shapes for the age group chosen by the author, which also allows the child to use their imagination to detail the scene, stimulating them to do so;
Use a combination of handmade and digital techniques in the illustrations for the visual production of the book. The more the boy uses his imagination (ventures into the forest), the scenery and environment become more organic, where I used handmade techniques (watercolor, gouache);
